Board

These are the current SF-Rotaract board members. Feel free to email us with any comments or questions.

President: Steve Waid

After growing up in New Orleans, living in Seattle throughout high school, and going to college at the University of Pennsylvania, I’ve finally settled down in San Francisco, where I’ve been for the past 6 years.  I work in the IT Consulting field and have been an active member of San Francisco Rotaract since 2009.  I joined the club primarily in the hopes of making an impact in the community and meeting new people, and am excited to serve as the President in the 2012-13 year!  One unexpected benefit of the club has been the number of international connections and friendships I’ve made since joining.  I can now say I have friends in the countries of France, Italy, Austria, Australia, and Ghana.

Outside of Rotaract and work, I enjoy anything that keeps me active (running along the Embarcadero, tennis, basketball, and golf), exploring the Bay Area, trying new restaurants, and keeping up to date on politics and current events.

Vice-President / Secretary: Vivek Chetty

My name is Vivek Chetty and I am the Vice-President of the San Francisco Rotaract Club.  I grew up in Mauritius and moved to California to go to college at UC-Davis in 2000.  I have been an active member of Rotaract for almost 2 years, and work in Project Management at an industrial burner and combustion engineering company.

Treasurer: Vikas Mouli

My name is Vikas Mouli, and I am the Treasurer of the San Francisco Rotaract Club. I’m originally from Baltimore, MD, went to college at Harvard in Cambridge, MA, and moved to the bay area about a year ago for my job at the private equity firm TPG. In my spare time, I really enjoy volunteering with non-profits that focus on water and rural electrification issues, going to concerts by obscure bands, and watching Battlestar Galactica (yes, I’m a huge nerd). I’m looking forward to working with you all to find ways to support worthwhile organizations, and continuing the positive impact that Rotaract has had on the community.

Local Service Chair: Holly Shisler

One of the few California natives you’ll find in San Francisco, I was born in Torrance (LA County), but later moved to Oceanside (near San Diego).  After graduating from College at UC Santa Cruz (majoring in Psychology and Women’s Studies), I moved back home and began working in an Independent Living Retirement Condo in La Jolla and taking classes in International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in San Diego.  Two years later, I decided to move to San Francisco and transferred with the same company.

And now, after four years living in San Francisco, I’ve made myself right at home.  I’ve been on the Board as Secretary (2010-11), President (2011-12) and now as Local Service Chair (2012-13) for Rotaract Club.  I also am a Board Member and Coach for Golden Gate Running Club (I’ve been running since 6th Grade!), quite involved in my Burning Man camp, Mystopia, and spend (maybe too much?) time creating crazy outfits for BM and it’s various year-round events.  I’ve also had the opportunity to travel abroad to Thailand, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil (and 8 hours in London), and am currently pondering where my next big trip is going to take me.

I enjoy the friendships that grow from the volunteering work that Rotaract offers and I’m looking forward to filling my and everyone else’s schedules with opportunities to do more good!

International Service Chair: Nico Cerutti

Involved in Rotaract for the past 3 years and serving as the International Relations Chair for approximately that same amount of time, I enjoy the opportunity that Rotaract provides me for volunteering, business networking but more importantly developing friendships.

Having moved from France nearly a decade ago, I currently work as an Attorney/Real Estate Broker in San Francisco. On my time off, you will find me either coaching soccer, going out with friends or planning my next international trip.  I hope to hear from you soon.

Professional Development Chair: Erica Hewitt

My name is Erica Hewitt. I was born and raised in Oakland, California. I attended UC Berkeley and received dual degrees in Political Science and America Business and Globalism. After graduation, I began working at Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group. My current position is Private Wealth Associate and I am currently working on my Certified Financial Planner designation.

I am a former Interactor and joined Rotaract about two years ago to continue my passion for community service. I am also a member of the charitable organization Spinsters of San Francisco. In my spare time I enjoy going to music shows around SF, learning to play the clarinet after a 12 year hiatus, and I consider myself somewhat of a foodie. I love exploring the Bay Area and all it has to offer.

Membership Chair: Jessica Hulce

My name is Jessica Hulce and I have been a member of SF Rotaract since 2009.  I currently serve as the Membership Chair.  I am also the RYLA Chair (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), an international and local youth program that I have been involved with since 2002.  After spending my teen years in Southern California and graduating from UC Santa Barbara, I have made San Francisco my home.  I now work at San Francisco School Alliance, an education non-profit organization.  I love to travel and meet new people!

Webmaster: Eric Mai

My name is Eric Mai. I enjoy going to SF Rotaract meetings and events. I also maintain the website. I am a programmer / engineer and am interested in transportation. I’m from Oklahoma originally but moved to the Bay Area in 2008. At work, I help to make software that public agencies use to improve their transportation system. I also make location-aware iOS applications. In my spare time, I like to play the bass guitar and ride my bike around Berkeley.
